Office 365, Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is available for all campus customers eligible for Office 365.
Microsoft Teams has been enabled for all campus customers eligible for Office 365 - active University faculty, staff, and students.
Microsoft Teams can be accessed from the Office 365 portal by logging into http://office.illinois.edu and clicking on the Teams icon.
Once in the web client for Teams, you will be provided with an opportunity to download and install the desktop client for your operating system. Mobile apps are available in the respective app stores.
You will also find, in all available clients, a Help tab with documentation and a help bot known as T-bot. This tab is the best and most up-to-date location to learn more about Microsoft Teams.
We are offering Microsoft Teams "as is."
Microsoft reports an average of 7 to 10 changes a week are made to the product and pushed out in the regular Office updates. We have found that there are unexpected behaviors and differences between client versions.
We also acknowledge that there are some limitations within Teams because we do not have full integration with Exchange Online or Skype for Business Online. There is a Technology Services project in progress to migrate to Exchange Online. More information will be announced about that project as we get closer to the actual migration dates.
