This article describes how to schedule and deploy content to your digital signs.

Before content can be scheduled, it must first be brought into Content Manager.To schedule content that has been brought into Content Manager. See Digital Signage, Creating New Content in Content Manager for more details on Adding Content.

Step 1: Adding a Template

If you have not already added a template to your sign:

Add Player
  1. Click on the Templates Tab located at the bottom of the Content Manager window.
  2. Click and hold on the template you wish to use and drag it to the player you wish to add it to in the Network Overview pane.
  3. If you are scheduling the same content for multiple players, you can create a Playlist and add the template and associated playlist

Step 2: Adding Content to the Timeline

Once a template has been added to the sign or playlist:

Add Player
  1. Click on the Templates Tab located at the bottom of the Content Manager window.
  2. Navigate to the Content Category that contains the content you wish to add.
  • If you are scheduling your own content, it will be located under Urbana Content and your department name.
  • If you are scheduling content that is being shared by other departments, it will be located under Urbana Shared Content and the name of the department sharing the content.
  • Click and hold on the content items you wish to schedule and drag it to a region of the template.
  • If you can use Control-Click and Shift-Click to select multiple content items to drag and drop.
  • For best results, you should always account for the height and width of the template regions when scheduling content. Some types of content do scale to fit the regions while others do not. It is good to understand the template that you are using.
  • As you add templates and content to the schedule, you should see Yellow bars appear on your Timeline. These bars represent the times where the template and content. If the Recurrence on the individual items is set to something other than “All day Every Day” you may see gaps in the bars or no bars at all.
  • Make sure you save your work often by using File and Save from the main menu.

Step 3: Preview and Deploy

Once you have added content to your regions:

Add Player
  1. Click on the sign in the Network Overview to select it.
  2. Click on Preview Mode button located at the top of the Network Overview pane.
  3. Your timeline will be replaced with a preview of what your sign will look like when Deployed.
  4. To see what your sign will look like at a particular point in time, you can drag the “Effective Local Time” before entering Preview Mode. It is the red vertical line in Timeline View that defaults to the current date and time.
  5. To exit Preview Mode, click on the Stop button located at the top of the Network Overview pane.
  6. When your content is scheduled the way you want, Right-Click on the player and Choose Deploy
