Please see this article for instructions on how to do so.

Manual Removal

For Windows computers, the BigFix Agent can be removed manually via the Add or Remove Programs/Programs & Features window of the Control Panel.

For Macs, the BigFix Agent can be manually removed using one of two methods, dependent on your agent version:

  • For agents running versions earlier than 9.0:
You need to find and download the DMG file that matches the version that you are using here:
The DMG will contain BESAgent, which can be run to remove the BigFix Agent.
  • For agents running version 9.0 or later:
Run the following command in Terminal:
sudo /Library/BESAgent/

Removal via BigFix

The BigFix Agent can be removed via BigFix itself. To do so, deploy either the “TROUBLESHOOTING: Uninstall the BES Client” or “TROUBLESHOOTING: Uninstall the BES Client Mac OS X" fixlet, depending on the operating system.

Removal via SCCM

The BigFix Agent can be removed via SCCM. To do so, deploy the ”BigFix Agent” application to the applicable collection in the SCCM Console as a required uninstall. It can be found in the Software Library tab → Application Management → MANAGED APPLICATIONS → BigFix.

Removal via Multi-Tenant Munki

The BigFix Agent can be removed via Multi-Tenant Munki. To do so, add the “bigfix_uninstaller” package to applicable manifests as a ‘Managed Install’.
