User authentication failed when trying to log in to Webex

Only faculty and staff are eligible to host Webex Meetings.

If your primary affiliation to UIC is of a student (including graduate or undergraduate, TA, GA, or student employee) and try to create a Webex account, you will receive the following error message:

User Authentication Failed
Reason: No user name found in SAML assertion (2)

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the license of Webex Meetings is only for faculty and staff. Students can use Webex as participants and can be given presentation rights but cannot host meetings as hosting requires the creation of an account.

Students are eligible to use Google Hangouts for group chat, group calls, video calls, and screen share. Learn more about the Google Suite apps offered to students here: https://accc.uic.edu/service/g-suite
