Map a Network Drive

Use the following instructions to map a network drive to your PC

Windows

  1. Open File Explorer
  2. Right click This PC and Select Map network Drive...
  3. Select the drive letter you want
  4. In the Folder box, type the name of the server path you want to use (\\ad.uillinois.edu\vetmed\Depts\YourFolderNameHere)
  5. Select Reconnect at sign-in
  6. Select Finish
 

Mac

  1. Select Finder
  2. Select Go
  3. Select Connect to Server
  4. In Server Address Field type: in : smb://(name of server).ad.uillinois.edu/Folder (Example: smb://astro.ad.uillinois.edu/csshare)
    • Home folders are always the path and NetID  for example smb://ad.uillinois.edu/vetmed/home/netid  (Just insert your NetID)
  5. Select + to add  (If prompted type in credentials and select folder )
  6. Select Connect to connect to the drive
  7. All servers that are connected are listed within the Finder window under Favorite Servers
