Welcome to the University of Illinois. This page will help guide you to get connected to our Wi-Fi network so that you can obtain general network connectivity while you visit. While on campus, connect your device to the Wi-Fi network "IllinoisNet_Guest"
A browser window should automatically open; this is our Wi-Fi Captive Portal Page. If this does not happen, open your web browser and navigate to http://illinois.edu.
This page will prompt you for your NetID and password to log in. As a guest or visitor, click the link at the bottom of the page and you can self-register an account. This account will be valid until 4am the next day, after which you will be prompted to create a new account.
After a brief moment the system should then inform you that you have been given Internet access. Visitors should choose Click Here for Wi-Fi Access. Keep in mind that any visitor accounts created in this way are only valid until 4am the following day, after which you will need to repeat this process.

Current staff, faculty, and students may use the Wireless Guest and Device Management Portal to create up to 10 guest accounts for use on Illinoisnet Guest. The limit of 10 includes both guest wireless accounts and devices (such as game consoles). Guest wireless accounts are valid for 3 days and can be scheduled in advance. These guest accounts are bound to the sponsor's NetID, so the sponsor is responsible for the guest's activity on the network.
The guest should connect to Illinoisnet_Guest and use their email and the password from the sponsor to log into the portal. They should then select Click here for internet access and not attempt to set up Illinoisnet.
