Thank you for contacting ACCC.  Unfortunately,  our C-Stop locations do not diagnose or repair hardware issues. 

For university owned devices, please speak with your department’s REACH contact(s) to determine repair steps.   REACH contacts can be found by searching your NetID in the UIC directory:



Then click on your department that is listed in the directory entry



Look for “REACH Contact” within the “Department Liaisons” section of the directory


The following solutions may also be helpful:

ACCC’s On Site Support office can repair university owned Dell or Lenovo computers for a $55/hour service fee payable by campus voucher.  More information and a form to request On Site Support can be found here:  https://accc.uic.edu/service/onsite

Both personally and university owned Apple products can be repaired at UIC’s Tech center in the UIC Bookstore in SCE(750 S. Halsted).

For personal devices,  while we do not recommend a particular service,  Best Buy’s Geek Squad,  Office Depot’s Tech Depot and Staples’ Tech Services are paid options that are able to repair computers.

If you are in need of a working laptop while yours is being repaired,  ACCC provides laptops for short-term loan at our BSB Learning Center (BSB Room 152) and in our Academic Multimedia Lab in the Daley Library IDEA Commons(Daley Library 1-030).
