Remote Access to PACS, RaptorMed, Qpulse, SlideHosting, VADDS and Vetstar

Please use the instructions below to download the remote connection link to your personal laptop for PACS (Imaging System), Vetstar/VADDS (Health Info Systems), RaptorMed (Wildlife), Slidehosting (histoloty) or Qpluse (VDL QA). If you previously logged into Dino via a VPN connection, you many continue to do so but we recommend that you switch to the new application links below.

Ensure you are connected to the internet. If you are on campus, you should connect to IllinoisNet.

Download Instructions (Windows and MacOS)

Select and download the following any of the following and save to your computer. (Remember where you save the file(s). We recommend you put it on your Desktop.)

PACS (Imaging System)
Raptormed (Wildlife)
Qpulse (VDL QA)
Slidehosting (Histology)
Vetstar&Vadds (Health Information Systems)

Note: When off campus you may be prompted for your credentials twice.

Windows Setup Instructions 

  1. Navigate to where you saved the file, and launch it.
  2. A box will appear asking if you are sure you want to connect. Check the Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer box.
  3. Select Connect
  4. When prompted to enter your credentials type uofi\NetID and your NetID password (campus email password)
  5. Select Remember my credentials
  6. Select OK
  7. A final box will show up asking to confirm the certificate. Check the Don’t ask me again for connections to this computer box
  8. Select Yes
  9. You will see the login screen for the application you selected.
Repeat these steps for each application you need to access. (You be presented with a login on subsequent application downloads.)

Apple macOS Setup Instructions 

Import Desktops

  1. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop. It can be found in Launchpad or in Applications > Microsoft Remote Desktop
  2. Select Connections
  3. Select Import Desktops
  4. Navigate to your downloads folder and highlight the download files (PACS, Vetstar & VADDS, SlideHosting)
  5. Select Import

 

Setup User Account 

  1. Select Microsoft Remote Desktop
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select User Accounts tab
  4. Select + symbol and add the following:
    • Username: uofi\netID
    • Password: uofi password
  5. Select Add

 

Add User Account to each of the applications (PACS, Vetstar & VADDS, SlideHosting)

  1. Highlight desktop connection (PACS, Vetstar & VADDS, SlideHosting)
  2. Select Connections
  3. Select Edit Desktop
  4. Change the User Account to setup User Account
  5. Select Save

Potential Errors

PC

You get "The publisher of this RemoteApp program can't be identified."

Click "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and click connect


You then get "The identity of this computer cannot be verified"
Click "Don't ask me again for connections to this computer" and click Yes


Macintosh

 When connecting to one of the desktops, if you receive the following error, select Continue.

 "You are connecting to the RDP host "DAISY.AD.UILLINOIS.EDU".  The certificate couldn't be verified back to a root certificate.  Your connection may not be secure.  do you want to continue?"
