SHIELD FAQ - How does SHIELD accommodate those who might struggle with the collection progress (such as younger children or older adults)?

--

Our supportive collection site staff members can help the patient produce a sufficient saliva sample. However, in order to complete the test, an acceptable saliva specimen is required (i.e., no food, liquids, or other substances in the mouth for one hour prior).

Children as young as 8 should not struggle with the collection process. For younger children, we can provide a curriculum designed to guide them through the steps and the reasons for the test.
