Should you lose, misplace, or forget your 2FA device and can not authenticate, you have a couple of options.

You will be required to authenticate if you have your device. Your passcode will be displayed as well as the expiration date:
B. If you do not have your 2FA device and are requesting a temporary passcode, select “No, I don't have my device”. This passcode will be sent to the recovery email address you set up in the NetID Center.
