System Government Costing - Salaries and Wages: Running the Webi Report

Guide to running the Webi report for salaries and wages.

To complete the Salaries and Wages and Salary and Wages Detail tab in the Service Activity Rate Calculation Template, you need to run the Salaries and Wages Webi Report first.

Note: In order to run Webi reports, users must have the latest version of Web Intelligence Rich Client installed on their computer. Updates and installation guides can be found through the aits.uillnois.edu.  Alternatively, users can access this report via the web browser based EDDIE system that is available through the OBFS website.

  1. Go to the Service Activities Resource Page.
  2. Click Salaries and Wages under the Business Objects Webi Report Templates section to expand the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Salaries and Wages report template which will download the .wid report file. Note: These Webi reports can be saved and accessed directly in the future; however, SGC updates these reports occasionally, so infrequent users should check for version updates. 
  4. Select the Open option in your file explorer to open the report .
  5. When prompted, Login with your user name and password (Net ID and University Password). You must be on VPN if logging from a device not on the University Network.
  6. You should be redirected to a blank tab in the report. If not, select the SA_Salaries and Wages with UIN_July 2022 report from Open Documents, or Recent Documents in the SAP Business Objects (Webi) main menu.
  7. Once the blank report is open, click the Refresh icon (circular arrow) under Query.
  8. Click Enter Fiscal year on the left side of the Prompts window.
  9. Type the 4 digit Fiscal Year in the "Search or enter values(s) manually" box. Confirm you input by clicking the (+) button. Your entry will populate in the Selected Values section of the window.
  10. Click Enter COA on the left side of the Prompts window.
  11. Type the single digit COA in the "Search or enter values(s) manually" box. Confirm you input by clicking the (+) button. Your entry will populate in the Selected Values section of the window.
  12. Type the fiscal year in the Type a value field.
  13. Click Enter Fund Code on the left side of the Prompts window.
  14. Type the 6 digit Fund Code in the "Search or enter values(s) manually" box. Confirm you input by clicking the (+) button. Your entry will populate in the Selected Values section of the window.
  15. Click the Run button.
    NOTE: The report may not refresh immediately based on the amount of information and connection speed.
  16. To export the data to Excel, click the down arrow icon (Export) in the File section of the top ribbon.
  17. Use the check boxes to select which pages of the report you want to export as tabs in an Excel workbook (or click "All Reports" to select all).
  18. Click Export.
  19. Select a destination to save on your computer or network.
  20. Name the report in the File Name field. A helpful practice is to add the fund number and fiscal year to the file name.
  21. Select Excel for Save as Type, and click Save.
  22. Refer to the Salaries and Wages Populating the Service Activity Rate Template job aid to populate the template with the salary and wage information.
