Smudgy Printing on Laserjet Printers
An overview of preventing smudging on Laserjet printers.
Printing with regular paper
If pages are coming up smeared, speckled, or smudged, try the printer's internal cleaning option:
- On the printer's Home menu, open Device Maintenance
- Then go to Calibration/Cleaning
- Select Print Cleaning Page.
This process will take about 7-10 minutes but should do the trick. Don't be alarmed if the printer makes weird, jerky noises; this is part of the thorough cleaning process.
