What are the costs for printing?
The pricing structure for printing had remain unchanged for over 10 years, but as of August 10th, 2019, the printing price structure per sheet (single- or double-sided piece of paper) will be as follows:
|Black & White||Color|
- Black & White Single-Sided, costs ($0.08 x 5) = $0.40
- Black & White Double-Sided charges two sheets at the double-sided cost, and one sheet at the single-sided cost, meaning ($0.10 x 2) + ($0.08 x 1) = $0.28
- Color Single-Sided, costs ($0.50 x 5) = $2.50
- Color Double-Sided, costs ($0.50 x 3) = $1.50
This pricing structure represents a significant decrease in the pricing for color printing, and a slight increase in the pricing of double-sided black & white printing, compared to pricing before August 2019. The costs associated with providing the printing service have increased over time, but ACCC was able to avoid increasing prices for students because the volume of printing has been consistently lower each year (there was a decrease of over 25% in printing volume between 2011 and 2017), which has been great for the environment!
However, the pricing model needed to be adjusted due to the adoption of Wepa as the university-wide printing solution and the resulting addition of many useful features, such as integrations with Google Drive and Blackboard and copying capabilities at many locations.
