What is the difference between my NetID and UIC email address?
Your UIC email address is not the exact same thing as your NetID.
Your UIC NetID does not contain @uic.edu while your email address will contain both your NetID and @uic.edu to form your NetID@uic.edu email.
If you do not know your NetID, it can be recovered here: https://identity.uillinois.edu/iamFrontEnd/iam/forgotID
Below, the most common UIC login systems and which username to use are described:
- For UIC-specific systems including Gmail, Blackboard and my.uic.edu that use this login screen, you will just use your NetID as your username
- System applications such as apps.uillinois.edu, TEM, etc. with the below log in screen will only use your NetID as well.
- For Microsoft applications, including UIC Outlook Online, you will use your full NetID@uic.edu email address to log in. If you try to log in with only your NetID, you will be prompted to enter your full email address
