How do I enable cookies on my (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Edge) browser?

Cookies, or HTTP cookies, are small pieces of information websites store on your computer. Cookies only contain bits of text, nothing else. It does not capture or store sensitive information. Some sites, such as Blackboard, require cookies to be enabled for the site to function properly. Make sure you are using the most up to date version of your browser. Please follow the steps below to enable cookies for your browser.

Firefox 

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Click Firefox menu in the browser toolbar.
  3. Choose Preferences.
  4. Click the Security & Privacy tab.
  5. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection select Standard 
  6. Quit Firefox and reopen browser.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Click Chrome menu in the browser toolbar.
  3. Choose Preferences.
  4. Click "Advanced"
  5. Click Privacy & Security
  6. Under the Privacy & Security section, select Site Settings
  7. Under Permissions select Cookies and site data
  8. Click the slider for "Allow local data to be set (recommended)" to enable.
  9. Also ensure that "Block third-party cookies and site data" is unchecked.
  10. Quit Chrome and reopen browser.

Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Click 'Tools' (the gear icon) in the browser toolbar.
  3. Choose Internet Options.
  4. Click the Privacy tab, and then, under Settings, move the slider to the top to block all cookies or to the bottom to allow all cookies, and then click OK.
  5. Quit Internet Explorer and reopen browser.

Safari

  1. Open Safari
  2. Click the Safari menu in the browser toolbar.
  3. Choose Preferences.
  4. Click the Privacy tab.
  5. Click the Never checkbox for Block Cookies.
  6. Quit Safari and reopen browser.

Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click on the More actions button on the toolbar, and select Settings.
  3. Search for View advanced settings and click on it.
  4. Under Cookies section, select to either Don't block cookies(default), Block only third party cookies.
  5. Quit Edge and reopen browser.
