Liquid Nitrogen Dispensing

Dewar Registration

Roger Adams Lab uses an automated liquid nitrogen dispensing system. In order to use this system, you must first have your dewar registered. If you need to register a dewar, email SCS Facilities and Safety at scs-facilities@illinois.edu to schedule a registration time. You will need to have a valid CFOP and empty dewar to complete the registration. While not needed for the registration process, you will also need a valid I-card to use the liquid nitrogen system.

Liquid Nitrogen Dispensing Training

Liquid nitrogen dispensing training is often conducted at the same time as dewar registration but can be done at any time. To schedule dispensing training, email SCS Facilities and Safety at scs-facilities@illinois.edu. It is best to schedule training at a time when you will need to complete a dewar fill to see the complete filling process. Training will typically take 10-15 minutes.
