WebStore, Convert from MATLAB network license to MATLAB Individual SSO

This is a simple solution to switch from the MATLAB Network license manager to the MATLAB Individual SSO.

If MATLAB is already installed on a computer using the MATLAB Network License Manager, you can switch to the Individual (SSO) license by removing the network license file.

Steps to Convert Your License

  1. On the computer where MATLAB is installed, search for the file network.lic.

    • You can use Windows Search or Spotlight on macOS to locate the file.

  2. Rename the file from network.lic to network.old.

  3. Launch MATLAB.

    • MATLAB will prompt you to sign in.

  4. Sign in using your University of Illinois email address.

    • You will be redirected to your campus authentication page.

  5. After signing in, MATLAB will be licensed using Individual (SSO) activation and will no longer require a connection to the network license manager.
