iSchool Printer Kiosk Steps

  1. Log in to the kiosk computer using your NetID and password; do not add "@illinois.edu" to your NetID.
  2. Once logged in, open the document(s) you will be printing. The document(s) can be retrieved in different ways, such as through an email, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, flash drive, etc.
  3.  Activate the print function in one of two ways:
    • Option 1: Select File at the top left of the screen, then click Print.
    • Option 2: Press the Windows logo key + P. On a Windows keyboard, the Windows logo key functions as the Apple Command key (⌘).

  4. When the Print window opens, select the correct printer. This field will either be named Printer or Destination based on your document's source, and it expands into a drop-down menu when clicked. Select the printer kiosk you are using or another nearby printer if the kiosk printer is out of service.

  5. Adjust any other printing settings to your desired specifications.
  6. Click the Print button at the bottom of the Print window.
  7. The Print Job Notification window will open; confirm that the Print job details are correct.

  8. Choose the type of account to charge under the Print job actions section.
    • Faculty and staff: Skip forward to Step 10, ignoring the Print job actions section.
    • Students: iSchool students are awarded a free printing quota depending on their academic level (see Printing Cost, Quota, and Printing Directly from PaperCut for quotas and printing cost).
      • Charge to my personal account: Most students typically choose this option; the Print job will be charged to your PaperCut account/printing quota.
      • Charge to shared account: If you have a shared account, possibly a course-related print credit, this option will allow you to select which account to use.
      • Charge to shared account using PIN/Code: This option is similar to the one above but requires you to manually enter a PIN or code.
  9. Click the blue Print button at the bottom of the window to send your job to the printer.
  10. Your print job is now complete!
