Printing, Connecting to the printer in 110D Engineering Hall

This article will walk you through how to connect your personal Windows or Mac computer so it can print to the Ricoh printer in 110D Engineering Hall. Select the operating system that matches your computer and make sure to follow the steps listed to confirm the printer successfully installs on your device. Windows

Confirm you are connected to IllinoisNet.

Confirm you are connected to the IllinoisNet WiFi

In the Windows search, type "Printers and Scanners."

Select "Open."

Type Printers and Scanners and then select Open or hit the Enter key.

In the "Printers and Scanners" menu, select "Add device."

Select the button that reads Add device.

Look for the option that reads "Add manually" and select that text.

Select Add manually to proceed

A new "Add Printer" window will appear.

Select the option for "Add a printer using an IP address or hostname" then select "Next."

Select add printer using an IP address then select the button that reads Next.

Fill out the next window by selecting "TCP/IP" Device for "Device Type."

Enter the IP Address or Hostname that is shown on the instruction sheet next to the printer.

Leave the box unchecked that asks "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use."

Select "Next."

In the new window, select "Microsoft" as the manufacturer and "Microsoft PCL6 Class Driver" as the driver.

Select "Next."

Select the manufacturer and printer driver.

In the "Printer Sharing" window, select the option that reads "Do not share this printer."

Select "Next."

Select the option to not share this printer.

That's it! The Engineering 110D Ricoh printer has been installed on your personal Windows computer. You should now be able to print to it from your device.

MacOS

Confirm you are connected to IllinoisNet.

Connect to the IllinoisNet WiFi or confirm you are connected to it

Open "System Settings" and let the window load.

Open System Settings.

Search for "Printers and Scanners."

Search for Printers and Scanners.

Select "Printers and Scanners" on the left, and then locate the "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..." button.

Select the "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..." button.

Select printers and scanners and select the add printer button

Once the "Add Printer" window loads, select "IP" at the top.

Enter the IP address or Hostname shown on the instruction sheet next to the printer.

Leave the Protocol as "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP."

Name the printer "Ricoh 110D Engineering Hall" and select "Generic PostScript Printer" as the driver.

Finally, select "Add."

In the following window toggle the option to enable the "Duplex Printing Unit" if you want to print double-sided. Note: This is optional.

Toggle Duplex Printing Unit and select OK

Confirm the "Ricoh 110 Engineering Hall" printer appears in the list.

Confirm the printer now appears for you

That's it! The Engineering 110D Ricoh printer has been installed on your personal MacOS computer. You should now be able to print to it from your device.
