Chrome (Mac) - Enable or Disable the Pop-Up Blocker
This document explains how to enable and disable Chrome's pop-up blocker.
For general information on pop-up blockers, see the following article: Pop-Up Blocker - FAQ.
- Open Chrome.
- Open Tools (the icon represented by three vertical dots) in the upper right corner.
- From the menu that appears, select Settings.
- Select the Privacy and Security option from the left-hand pane.
- Then click Site Settings (located under the Privacy and security section, as shown in the example image below).

- Locate the Content subsection, and click on Pop-ups and redirects.

- Enable or disable the pop-up blocker by toggling the switch next to Blocked (recommended). The toggle will be grey if the blocker is not turned on.

- Additionally, if you wish to make exceptions for certain websites, you can specify which sites or pages should be blocked from opening or allowed to open pop-up windows by clicking the Add buttons located to the right of the Block or Allow sections, respectively.
- From the small window that appears, you can then add sites to either block or allow (see the image below for a visual example).

- Exit all windows once finished.
