Zoom, Meetings vs Webinars

Meetings and webinars share some of the same features, but there are important differences you should be aware of. Meetings are best for events requiring collaboration between participants. Webinars are best for events requiring a small number of people to present information to the attendees. In this case, the attendees generally do not interact with one another and the events are open to a wider public audience.

Additional Licensing Information:

Zoom users with a basic license are limited to hosting meetings up to 40 minutes and 100 participants. Zoom education licensed users can host meetings for up to 30 hours with 300 participants. For more information about the differences in Zoom licenses, please see Zoom, Basic vs Education Licensing. Additionally, large meeting license options are available based on participant capacity.

Webinar functionality does not come standard with your campus license. Webinar licenses are available at an additional charge and are available based on the needed capacity.
