NetID Claim, How to Claim for Students

The following instructions will explain how new students can claim their NetID

The NetID claim process begins with your UIN and an activation code given to you by University Admissions or the Graduate College.

  • Undergraduate students: Once you've accepted your admission in MyIllini, your activation code can be found in the admitted student checklist.
  • Graduate students: Your UIN and activation code and be found on your Graduate College application status page.
  • University Affiliates: If you've been told that a University account was created for you, but have not been sent a UIN or activation code, contact the Technology Services Help Desk for assistance.

Please note: the below screenshots were collected from the undergraduate claim process; formatting and available options may differ slightly depending on your account's type.
