Cloud Dashboard to claim accounts for U of I Box and Google Apps at Illinois
Newly-hired faculty or staff members first need to claim their U of I Box account before they can sign in at box.illinois.edu, or use the Box Drive app on their university computers. Though used less often by staff, Google Apps @ Illinois can be useful, but does not necessarily need to be claimed unless a particular unit or team decides to utilize Google apps.
- In a browser, navigate to https://cloud-dashboard.illinois.edu and choose the radial button next to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
- Follow on-screen instructions to sign in with your campus email and password, and complete 2FA/MFA steps.
- The picture below is how the Cloud Dashboard should look after you click the On button for "U of I Box."
When navigating to this page for the first time, before claiming either the U of I Box account or Google Apps @ Illinois, their statuses will be Off and red.
This picture is how it will look after activating those accounts:
- After clicking the On button for U of I Box, be patient a few moments while the command is processed. After a few seconds, the status will show green and On, as pictured above.
- After the status is on, it is best to utilize Logout option at the top/right of the page.
Please note:
- The main focus of this page is the activation of one's U of I Box account. Google Apps @ Illinois can also be claimed, following the same steps as activating Box. The only difference is there will be a end user agreement pop-up window to acknowledge when activating the Google account.
- Please ignore the Office 365 line as it is not configurable by individuals visiting this page.
