2FA/MFA, Enroll Smartphone in Duo Mobile
Install the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone
Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
Search for "Duo Mobile"
Get the free app and install it
Note: There may be similar apps advertised. Be careful to download the correct one!
Set up your smartphone with Duo Push in the Identity Center
In a web browser on a computer, go to identity.uillinois.edu and log in
Select "Manage my 2FA"
Select "Add a new device"
Choose the smartphone device platform, i.e. Android, iOS (Apple), or Windows Phone
Select "Continue"
Enter your phone number, including country code
Choose "Yes" for the question "Do you want to use the Duo Mobile App for this device?"
Select "Continue"
If your device is already registered, you will be prompted to continue or cancel. Choose "Continue."
Switch to your smartphone and open the Duo Mobile app
If this is your first time setting up Duo Mobile, select "Continue" and "QR code"
Note: If you already have Duo Mobile installed, use the "Add +" option in the top-right corner, and then "QR Code" to set up an account
Switch back to the browser on your computer
On the Duo install page, choose "I have Duo Mobile installed"
When a QR code pops up, point your smartphone's camera at the screen
Name the account, e.g. "U of I MFA" or "Illinois Verification"
Once complete, the new account will appear on the list of connected services
That's it! Going forward, Duo Push will be an available option to use when signing in to university services.
