University of Illinois ChatGPT Education (Illinois Campus) Setup - Moving Custom GPTs from ChatGPT Team/Business to ChatGPT Edu

The steps below outline the process for manually migrating your custom GPTs from the previous Chat GPT Team/Business license to the new ChatGPT License.

Instructions

  1. In your existing ChatGPT Teams/Business workspace, you can access your custom GPTs on the left navigation menu. Select the custom GPT you wish to save. This example uses a GPT entitled SMART Goal Maker.

  2. On the new browser window with custom GPT, select the custom GPT name at the top of the screen to expand the drop-down menu, then select the Edit GPT option.

  3. The Configure tab will be highlighted. Copy the Name, Description, and Instructions into a document (e.g., Word, Box, Notes app, etc.). Note any Conversation starters, any documents you uploaded under Knowledge, and any settings under Recommended Model, Capabilities, and Actions. (Note that the image below cuts off after the Knowledge section.)

  4. Save the information in these fields/sections for each custom GPT you wish to transfer.
  5. Once your ChatGPT Edu account is set up, you can recreate these custom GPTs and copy/paste the pertinent information in the Configure tab in each newly created custom GPT.
