2FA/MFA, Supported Hardware Tokens (YubiKey, OTP C200)

Multifactor authentication only works with specific hardware tokens: the YubiKey 5 NFC, YubiKey 5 Nano, and OTP C200. The YubiKey 4 and OTP C100 are not supported by Microsoft Authenticator. If you have an older token, it needs to be replaced before Duo is retired in April 2027.

Use this guide to identify old and new hardware tokens. If you have an old, incompatible model, please contact your departmental purchasers (faculty) or the IT Partners @ Gies Help Desk (staff) to arrange for a replacement.
