Fujitsu ScanSnap Home, VITA Program, How to Scan Documents for the VITA Tax Program
On the university laptop, open ScanSnap Home from the taskbar icon or the icon on the desktop.

Place the document(s) in the feeder tray, text-side face down. Make the document(s) as straight as possible.
In ScanSnap Home, click the "Open scan window" button.

Confirm that “VITA Scans” is the selected scan profile. All scanning MUST be done in this profile.

In ScanSnap Home, click the "Scan" button.
Note: If you have multiple documents from a taxpayer, place all of them in the feeder tray with the first sequential page at the bottom and the final page closest to you. The text-side of the page must be face down.

Once all pages have been scanned, review each page for legibility, pages out of order, or missing/cut-off sections.
If you need to delete the current scans to re-do them, select the delete button.

When preparing to save, review the title of the file. Add the taxpayer's Last Name and First Name to the filename and then click "Save."

Remove the pages from the output tray and return them to the taxpayer.
Close ScanSnap Home with the "X" button at the top-right.

Note: If anything needs to be re-done, alert the coordinator to delete the PDF and start over from Step 1.
Start over from Step 1 for the next taxpayer.
