Frequently asked questions about the Illinois app.
How do I get to the laundry feature? I don't see it anywhere on my Home or Browse screen.
To see the Laundry tile, you must:
- Have a residence hall contract with University Housing
- Connect with your NetID
- Set your user role to “University Student” (Settings > Privacy Center > Personal Information > Who You Are)
Students living in off-campus housing or private certified housing do not have access to the Laundry feature.
How do I show the wallet?
To see your Wallet you must:
- Sign in with your NetID
- Set your role to Student or Employee.
Tap the Wallet button at the bottom of the screen after you have changed your settings.
How do I change languages? I want to override my phone's language settings and use English in the Illinois app.
Change the language preference in your phone’s system settings.
- On iPhone: Go to iPhone Settings > Illinois > Preferred Language.
- On Android: You must change the language of your phone’s operation system.
- Go to Settings > System or General Management > Language > Preferred Language, or equivalent in your language.
Who can create a group?
New groups can be created by faculty, staff or students. You must sign in to the app with your NetID.

Can I use the Illinois app to ride the bus in Champaign-Urbana? Is a bus schedule or map available in the app?
The Bus Pass in the Wallet is accepted on all MTD buses. The Campus Guide provides a quick link to the MTD website for schedule, maps, and other information.

What should I do if my dining dollars or meal plan is charged incorrectly?
You can return to the location where you made the purchase. They can look up the transaction and adjust it so that the meal is charged to the account you prefer.
How do I sign in to MyIllini through the Illinois app? I keep getting stuck in a loop.
Download the latest version of the Illinois app or update the app through your app store. The current version (V3.0 and later) has resolved issues with two-factor authentication.
Can my parents add to my Illini Cash account through the app?
Yes, parents and anyone else can add money to another person’s Illini Cash balance if they know the recipient’s UIN. Cash is deposited to the recipient’s Illini Cash account from the sender’s bank card. No fees are charged by Illini Cash for the money transfer. (Browse > Illini Cash > Add Illini Cash.)
