Getting Started with Copilot for Microsoft 365
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is currently in a test phase on our campus. You must be a part of the early adopters program to get a license. If you are and you’ve received your license it can to take a few steps to get it working across all your applications.
Office365 Online Apps
Copilot should appear right away in the web apps but you may need to adjust your cookie settings to actually use it. If you don’t you’ll get a license error when you try to ask questions. Instructions on how to make those changes are under the 3rd header of this site
Windows Desktop Apps
For Outlook you must be using “New Outlook”. For both Outlook and Teams copilot features should appear automatically but you may have to close and reopen the apps if you don’t see them.
For Excel, Word, & Powerpoint you’ll need to “Update License” and then close out and restart any of the office apps you’re using.

Update License can be found under your name at the upper right -> Office User Info -> "Update License".

Mac Desktop Apps
For Outlook you must be using “New Outlook”. Features may appear automatically for both Outlook and Teams but if not you will need to completely sign out and close both apps and then log back in. Teams sign out is under your name in the upper right and Outlook is under Tools-> Accounts.
For Excel, Word, & Powerpoint you’ll need to “Update License” and then close out and restart any of the office apps you’re using.
