Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Duo Version Update

A root certificate used by older Duo clients will expire on March 31. Duo Mobile and Duo-integrated applications must be updated to continue authenticating successfully.

If updates are not applied, users may experience:

  • Failed authentication attempts
  • Duo Push notifications not being delivered
  • Login disruptions for Duo-protected applications

Failure to update before the certificate expiration may result in authentication outages.

How to check your Duo Mobile app version

Step 1: Open the Duo Mobile App

Step 2: Tap the menu icon(≡) in the top-left corner

Step 3: Check the version number at the bottom of the screen. You will see something like (Version:4.103.0.1436.1)

Note:

Minimum required versions are Duo Mobile 4.85.0 or later

How to update the Duo Mobile app

To Update:

Step1: Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play store (Android)

Step 2: Search “Duo Mobile”

Step 3: Tap “Update”

Step 4: Reopen the app after successful update.

Note:

Supported mobile operating systems:

Android: Version 11 or later

iOS: Version 16 or later

Application Owners and System Administrators

    Applications and services that integrate with Duo using: Duo APIs, Duo SDKs, Duo Authentication Proxy, and Duo-developed integration must be updated to the versions that include the new CA Bundle.
