Skype for Business, Contact Card, Incorrect Account Information Is Displayed
Searching for contacts within Skype for Business displays incorrect contact card information.
Skype for Business pulls the contact information from multiple sources.
Problem: The 'Work Phone' number that appears in Skype for Business is incorrect.
- The Work Phone number reflects what has been entered as the office phone number in the HR My Info portal. This can be accessed at: https://go.uillinois.edu/myprofile. After signing in, click on Edit next to Address/Contact Information. On the next page click Edit next to Office Address. Please note that changes made here may take several days to fully propagate across all systems.
- Information stored in the Outlook Contacts/People folder also feeds into Skype for Business. Try deleting outdated entries from this folder if you have a Skype for Business contact that is showing incorrect information.
- A possible location is within Skype for Business. In the Windows client, click on the gear icon to access settings, then go to the Phones section. Remove your mobile number if it is listed there.
- The aforementioned Outlook Contacts/People can also be the culprit in this case. If others report seeing your mobile number in your Skype for Business contact card, they most likely have a contact saved in Outlook with that information. Deleting this information will solve this.
