Email, Unauthenticated SMTP for campus printers, web services, etc.
This page contains information about outbound-relays (aka Express-SMTP), an email service for on-campus IP addresses.
Who can use Outbound-Relays to send outgoing messages
Any computer, printer, web service or email client in the campus IP space can use Outbound-Relays to send outbound email messages. The name express-smtp.cites.illinois.edu is a deprecated name that exists for legacy systems.
Configure your on-campus printer or other device to use Outbound-Relays
Set up your device with these connection parameters:
server: | outbound-relays.techservices.illinois.edu |
port | 25 |
requires an encrypted connection: | no |
reply email address: | A valid, deliverable email address OR 'no-reply@illinois.edu'. (Email sent to no-reply is discarded by the email relays.) |
Limits: Since this is a shared resource on the campus, there is a limit of 50 concurrent connections per server and 100 messages per connection.
