Email, Spam Control, Changing Daily Digest Preferences

By default, you will receive a spam digest email daily, even if you have no messages in your quarantine. You can log in to ProofPoint to change your spam digest preferences.

The University of Illinois uses ProofPoint as one of its email spam control measures. By default, ProofPoint will send out a Spam Digest email daily to inform you of any spam emails in your quarantine. This email will still be sent, even if your quarantine is empty.

To change your ProofPoint Spam Digest settings:

  1. Navigate to the ProofPoint Quarantine page: https://go.illinois.edu/spamdigest.
  2. Sign in if it does not log you in automatically.
  3. Click on Profile in the lower-left corner.
  4. Under My Settings, you should have 2 check boxes: Send digest with new messages in my End User Digest and Send digest even when I have no messages in my End User Digest.
    • Check both boxes if you would like to always receive your Spam Digest email, even if you have no messages in quarantine.
    • Uncheck just Send digest even when I have no messages in my End User Digest if you would like to receive Spam Digest emails only when you have emails in quarantine.
    • Uncheck both boxes if you would never like to receive Spam Digest emails, even if you have emails in quarantine.

It is strongly advised to leave at least one box checked if you use the Cautious, Cautious Plus, or Aggressive personal spam policies. This will ensure you get a notice if any emails have been quarantined, giving you the chance to review these emails before they are permanently deleted.
