This article provides information for creating a self-service, interactive installer in MECM.

Instructions
- Navigate to the Computer Agent section in Custom Client Device Settings:
- For ‘Install permissions’, select ‘All Users’
- 'All Users' is recommended; end-users will only be able to install what is published to Software Center by the IT Pro

- For ‘Install permissions’, select ‘All Users’
- Under the User Experience tab of the application’s deployment type, select the following:
- Installation behavior: Install for system
- Logon requirement: Only when a user is logged on
- Installation program visibility: Normal
- Select checkbox: Allow users to view and interact with the program installation
- Under the Programs tab of the application’s deployment type:
- Only listing the setup executable for the ‘installation program’ path is typically enough
- Some setup executables launch child processes and require additional flags to keep the parent process open
- For example, InstallShield may require ‘setup.exe /sms’
