Office 365, Admin Approval when adding email to mobile device

Users may encounter the error message "Your administrator has to approve you to add your account to mobile" when they try to add an email account to their device. To resolve this, please follow the instructions below.
  1. Ensure that your phone and Outlook app are both fully up to date. You may need to restart the device to ensure that updates are fully processed.
  2. This error is commonly seen for devices that were previously managed by another mobile application management service; typically from another place of employment. If the device was previously used and registered in another company's system or mobile devices, please reach out to the company. The company may be able to disconnect the device from their management system.
  3. If the above is not applicable and the device does not have any other managed account, the error message is not a direct result of Outlook access. Please ensure you are selecting Office365 or Exchange when adding your email account.
