This page contains information about how faculty, staff, and graduate students create a Google Apps @ Illinois account, how to log in, and how to connect your account to a mobile device.

Introduction

If you are faculty, staff, or a graduate student, you are eligible to create a Google Apps @ Illinois account through the Cloud Dashboard.

If you choose to create a Google Apps @ Illinois account, you will have the ability to use tools like Google Docs and Sites to collaborate online.

Warning: Google Mail use is not supported
While faculty and staff can use Google Apps for collaboration, use of Google Mail services is not supported. See Email, Google Apps @ Illinois, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for Faculty, Staff, and Graduate Students for more information.

Creating a Google Apps @ Illinois account

You can create a Google Apps @ Illinois account through the new Technology Services Cloud Dashboard application. To enroll, follow these steps:
  1. Log into the Cloud Dashboard using your campus credentials.
  1. Click the "On" button for Google Apps @ Illinois, below "Account Status."
  1. Review the Terms of Service and press the "Accept" button. After a moment, your account status will display as "On."
  1. Sign in to your new Google Apps account by clicking on the "Google Apps @ Illinois" Cloud Dashboard link or by visiting http://docs.g.illinois.edu.
  1. Upon first login, you will need to accept the Google terms of use by clicking "I accept. Continue to my account."

Logging in to your Google Apps @ Illinois account

The easiest way to access your Google Apps @ Illinois account is through the secure web interface located at http://docs.g.illinois.edu.

Because you need only a computer with an Internet connection and a web browser, no additional configuration is necessary.

Note: The first time that you log in to your Google Apps @ Illinois account, you will be required to accept the Google Terms of Service; this set of Terms are associated with Google services and are different from the University of Illinois ones you agreed to in the Campus Email Setup web page. This is the last set of Terms of Service required to accept in order to use Google Apps @ Illinois.
