What are the FAST3 training policies?
Who Can Enroll in Training Classes?
Everyone! Registration is not restricted, and anyone may enroll, whether or not they are affiliated with the University.
The final date for cancellation without penalty is 5 working days (generally one calendar week) prior to the first class meeting. Sorry ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢â∠â we're unable to make exceptions, but see "Substitutions" below. If you must cancel, please contact us.
Substitutions: A substitute may be sent in your place if you are unable to attend. Please inform us of the name of the substitute so that we may change our records.
Check prerequisites before enrolling in any course. The instructor in each class will be teaching based upon a common level of understanding in the classroom. If you lack the required knowledge, you'll quickly fall behind. Meeting course prerequisites is the student's responsibility; we're not able to issue a refund if you do not meet prerequisites.
Participants with disabilities needing special accommodations to attend a workshop must contact us immediately upon registering so that arrangements can be made.
Participants using wheelchairs:
- At Illini Hall, wheelchair ramp access to the building is located on the southwest side of the building from John Street. There is an automatic door at the end of the ramp.
- At the Armory Building, there is an automatic door at the northeast entrance, just a few yards (meters) from room 156, where workshops are taught.
All classes begin promptly at the stated times. We recommend that you arrive about ten minutes prior to the starting time of your class to hang up your coat and get settled. Please plan on staying in the class for the entire session; late arrivals and early departures are disruptive.
Most of the classes include written materials ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢â∠â either handouts or a workbook ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢â∠â that you can take with you at the end of the class. Many of our materials are purchased from an outside vendor who has granted quantity-purchase discounts. We've passed that discount along to you. Trials have shown that these workbook materials are extremely effective and serve as excellent reference books after class completion.
You may wish to bring a pen or pencil and some extra paper for note taking.
Professional Credits (CEUs & CPDUs)
If you are required by your profession to earn continuing education credits (CEUs), we may be able to help you. Some workshops have already been approved for the award of University of Illinois CEUs ("UIUC CEUs"), and are so identified in the workshop description. Contact us if you need certification of your attendance.
Illinois public school teachers are now eligible to earn Continuing Professional Development Units (CPDUs) for many of our workshops, provided their approved professional development plans include this type of activity. Contact us for further information.
Upon request, we are able to provide a record of classes attended.
