Email, Spam Control, Email or attachment disappears

When sending email that contains an attachment to an address the message disappears, but when sending to a non-University address the message is delivered.

Emails that are sent to email addresses are scanned for known viruses. If an attachment contains a virus, the email is automatically deleted. Certain file types are automatically filtered; a list of those is available at Email, Spam Control, Attachment filters . Archive file types (such as .zip) that contain more than 256 files or are more than 10 layers deep (folders within folders) are automatically filtered.

Note: Once an attachment is stripped, it is deleted and cannot be retrieved.
