AITS - Service Desk - 2FA/DUO - Enroll a New Phone/Number

Instruction on how to add a new device to the netid center. How to update and add a device for 2FA/MFA

Here are the instruction to update your 2FA/MFA by adding a device at the NetID Center. We highly recommend the use of the DUO Mobile app for your 2FA needs.

It is recommend to login to the netid center on a PC as you will need to use the Phone Camera to scan a code later on Screen for the setup

Logging into NetID Center

Step 1 Go to NetID Center

Step 2 Login: Please use your NetID and not your Campus Email for login here:

Step 3 2FA/MFA Prompt:

Step 4 You are now logged into the NetID Center:

Managing 2FA/MFA

Step 1 Click Manage 2FA after you are signed in at the Net Id Center:

Step 2 Click the + Add a new device:

It is recommend to have the drop down "When i log in" be Automatically DUO Push

If your phone number is the same please continue with + Add a new device you will be reactivating the number for 2FA/MFA

Step 3 Follow the on Screen Prompts for the device you are adding:

Step 4 enter your phone number and click continue for DUO Mobile App setup: (Including your area code 555-555-5555)

Step 5 Select the Devices OS "Android" for Google Devices, "IOS" for Apple Devices.

Installing Duo Mobile App

Step 1 install the DUO Mobile App on your device:

You will need to have the app installed on the phone/device you wish to have for 2FA/MFA to continue with the Mobile App.

Android Google Play Store: Duo Mobile - Apps on Google Play

Iphone Apple Store: Duo Mobile on the App Store

Step 2 On Phone:

Click Continue

Click Use a QR code (You are now ready to use and activate the Mobile App.)

Return to PC screen click I have the "DUO Mobile App Installed"

Use your device to scan the QR code on screen.

Click Save to finish setup on Device.

2FA, Activate Duo Mobile for Your Device

Final Touches - Remove a Device

Step 1 Mark the device as the Default 2FA/MFA device by saving it as your "Favorite" Device (This will be the 1st device used for 2FA/MFA authentication)

Step 2 Remove old non working devices on account. (Once 2FA has been setup there must be at-least 1 device added to the account)

Click on the device and then click the red trash can to remove the device
