EDDIE/Web Intelligence Rich Client - Using on a Mac

Can I use Web Intelligence on a Mac?

Web Intelligence Rich Client is a Windows application. It is not built for Apple's operating system, and cannot be run natively on a Mac. However, you can run EDDIE (Web Intelligence in HTML mode), or run parallels (dual operating systems with Windows) and switch back and forth to use Web Intelligence Rich Client.

To run reports in EDDIE:

  • Click the blue circle with your last and middle initials in the upper right corner and click Settings.

Initials menu

  • Click Application Preferences.

Settings menu

  • Make sure the Web Client options are selected under Open in Reading mode and Open in Edit mode.

Application Preferences menu

  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen to save the changes.

Save button

Note that if you have Web Intelligence documents saved to a local file system, you'll need to save the documents to the BI Platform Repository (file system within EDDIE), as the HTML version of Web Intelligence cannot interact with local file systems.
