University Bursar - How do I use my 529 Plan to pay my student account?

Contact your 529 plan administrator regarding the use of the savings plan and for information regarding plan participation.

A 529 Plan is an education savings plan operated by a state or educational institution designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs. Plans and payout rates vary by state.

Payments from 529 Prepaid Tuition Plans should include the student’s name and UIN on the check to ensure proper credit. Payments must be mailed at least five business days prior to the due date to allow for mail delivery and processing time. Checks should be made payable to the University of Illinois and mailed to the following location:

University of Illinois Payment Center
Student A/R
28393 Network Place
Chicago IL 60673-1283

Scholarship checks should NOT be sent to this address. To ensure proper credit to student accounts, please direct all scholarship payment checks to the financial aid office on the recipient's campus of attendance. Visit Scholarship Payments for details.
