University Bursar - Who do I contact about charges and credits on my student account?

For questions about the reasons why you were charged or credited or the amounts, please contact the departments below.

Tuition and Mandatory Fees

The Registrar office is responsible for applying tuition and mandatory fees and provides detailed information regarding how your tuition and fees are calculated. 

Financial Aid

The financial aid office at each university is responsible for calculating and applying financial aid to student accounts. 

Housing

The Housing office at each university is responsible for applying housing charges.

Meal Plan

In Chicago and Springfield, meal plans are charged through the Dining office. In Urbana-Champaign, University Housing applies meal plan charges.

Health Insurance

Student insurance is automatically charged to student accounts. Students may file for an exemption from the health insurance fee if they can provide proof of alternative coverage. Please Note: The Health Service Fee is NOT student insurance and is a mandatory fee that cannot be waived. For an explanation of required fees, visit the Registration website for your university. 

Library

The library may apply charges for lost materials and for printing services.

Parking

The parking office will apply charges for students with a parking permit.
