Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Access - Instructions/Procedures

How do I get access to the Enterprise Data Warehouse? I need some instruction on how to complete an access request or modify an existing one in the DS Unit Security Contact (USC) Application. How do I make an ODBC connection for access?

If you are not a Unit Security Contact (USC), you will need to have that person request access on your behalf. If you are unsure who your unit's USC is, use the Find my USC webpage.

If you are an OBFS employee, please email AITS Service Desk at servicedeskaits@uillinois.edu or call them at (217) 333-3102 or (312) 996-4806, and they will send a ticket to OBFS Finance Security on your behalf.

Access to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) is requested by your USC at the Decision Support website via the DS USC Application. Once the access has been requested, AITS DS Security will process the request within two (2) business days. An email containing instructions on how to register for training and additional resources to help get started will be sent to the user. This information is also available on the Getting Started webpage.

The Get Data Warehouse Access webpage is a great starting point for USCs. The DS Access Plan is useful in determining what access to request. EDW access requests can only be accepted using the DS USC App.

It is highly recommended that new customers attend an instructor-led training course that covers how to use the EDDIE reporting tool in general.
