VMD

Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group

VMD is a molecular visualization program for displaying, animating, and analyzing large biomolecular systems using 3-D graphics and built-in scripting.

ChemDraw

ChemDraw is a suite of tools that enable scientists and researchers to effectively capture and share data on compounds, materials, and chemical reactions.  For more information on the applications that comprise see the ChemDraw website

  • Graduate Students
    • You may download Chemdraw at no cost to you from the WebStore at https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/product.aspx?zpid=7152 (license cost is subsidized by SCS, Chemistry, and ChBE) if EITHER of the following is true:
      1. If your home academic department is either ChBE or Chemistry
      2. If your appointment (e.g. as a research assistant) is through ChBE or Chemistry

    • If you work in a ChBE or Chemistry lab but neither 1 or 2 (above) apply to you, ask your PI or group admin staff to contact SCS IT staff (scs-computing@illinois.edu), and we may be able to help. 

    • For all other (non-SCS) graduate students, faculty or staff, a license may be purchased using a University account number here:  https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/product.aspx?zpid=7151
