Setting the Time Zone in Zoom

If you have ever experienced Canvas showing the wrong time for Zoom class sessions, you will need to verify that your Zoom account reflects the correct time zone. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Go to illinois.zoom.us and log in with your NetID and password.
   
   
2. Click Profile on the left side of the screen.
   
   
   
   
3. On your profile page, you'll find different sections of information. The first section is labeled "Personal." The third option under "Personal" is Time Zone. Click Edit in the Time Zone row.
   
   
   
   
4. A drop down will appear where it lists your time zone. Select the correct time zone and click Save.
   
   
5. After you save, go to your class's Canvas page and verify that the time of class is now correct. 

Setting the Time Zone in Your Canvas Settings

If the above steps do not fix the time zone discrepancy in your Canvas course, follow the below steps to change your time zone in Canvas itself.

1. Go to canvas.illinois.edu and log in with your NetID and password.
2. Click Account in the top left corner of the screen, then click Settings in the side menu that appears.
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. Click Edit Settings on the right hand side of the screen.
   
   
   
   
4. Your time zone is now editable. Select your current time zone from the drop down menu, and click Update Settings.
   
   
   
   
5. After you save, go to your class's Canvas page and verify that the time of class is now correct.

Setting the Time Zone in the Zoom Canvas LTI

If the above steps do not fix the time zone discrepancy in your Canvas course, follow the below steps to change your time zone through the Zoom LTI.

1. Go to canvas.illinois.edu and log in with your NetID and password.
   
   
2. Open any of the Canvas courses in which you are enrolled or are the instructor. 
3. Click Zoom Meeting from the left-hand navigation menu. 
   
   
   
4. Click the Pencil icon next to the time zone and language settings.
   
   
   
   
5. Select your current time zone from the pop up menu that appears, and click Update.
   
   
   
   
6. After you save, the time of class should now be correct.
