NOTE: Make sure that you are using the most recent version of Zoom to ensure that the information in these pages matches what you see. This documentation from Zoom explains how to check for updates. After updating, restart your computer. 

Activating Your Account

Before you do anything with Zoom, you will have to activate your account by going to illinois.zoom.us.

Click Sign in and log in using your NetID and password.

Once you sign in, you will be taken to your Zoom profile page. In the row labeled "License Type" you should be listed as "Licensed" (previously called Pro). If your user type is "Basic," please contact the Help Desk to get your account configured.

Downloading the Desktop Application

In order to use all the features of Zoom during your meetings, you will need to use the Zoom desktop application.

The application will automatically download when you join your first meeting, but if you would like to download it ahead of time please visit the download page. Please note that the application will automatically begin to download once you click this link.
