I sponsored the creation of an affiliate NetID. What is the status of my affiliate NetID Request?

I sponsored the creation of an affiliate netid, but the user has not received any notification that the netid has been created, and the unit manager says they approved my request. How do I check the status of my request? I am a unit manager waiting on an approved account to be created, but I don't see it in my pending requests tab. Where should I look?

If the  Affiliate NetID has not been created and it has been more than two business days, the sponsor or unit manager can log into the backend and check the status of the request. (Note: Sponsor/Unit Manager must be on a university network in order to check the status of the request.)

Once in the backend, you will see a pending requests window:

Click the check box to the left of the words 'Include processed requests'

This will show all requests that have been successfully approved by both sponsor and unit manager. Look for your sponsored NetID here and note the request status. A list of potential statuses and their meanings is below.

  • Waiting Sponsor approval - The Sponsor is required to review the submission request for completeness
  • Waiting Unit Manager approval - The Sponsor has completed the review and the Unit Manager is required to approve the request
  • Request Rejected - The Sponsor or Unit Manager has denied the request
  • Waiting on i-Card - The request has been sent to i-Card to obtain a UIN. I-Card will create a new UIN or return an existing UIN if discovered. If more information is needed, icard will email the sponsor and a copy of the message body will be included on the sponsored netid record.
  • Failure from i-Card - System error, i-Card rejected the request. This should be a rare occurrence. Check for a message from iCard for the reason. If none, contact the Service Desk for assistance.
  • Waiting on Campus assignment - The campus is generating a new NetID or using an existing NetID if discovered.
  • Campus NetID assignment failed -  This should be a rare occurrence. Contact the Service Desk for assistance.
  • Request failed - System error, this should be a rare occurrence. Contact the Service Desk for assistance.
  • Complete - All is good, the Requester is now active

If the message on the requested account is 'Waiting on iCard' click on the requester name to see if there is a message from iCard about the reason for the wait status. The message can be found beneath the sponsor's email address on the left side pane.

The sponsor should also receive an email at the address given in the Sponsor field that includes the information found in the ICARD Message field. It will usually be a request for more information about the requested user to verify identity.
