Banner, Self Service, Invalid Username/Password, Logon Denied

When your browser session expires, Banner Self Service will tell you that your username or password is invalid, even when you've logged in using the correct credentials. The following steps will guide you through several ways to fix this issue.

Fix 1: Log Out & Log Back In

The easiest way to fix this error is to simply log out of Banner Self Service, and then log back in.

  1. Navigate to the Self Service portal and select your campus.
    • You may need to enter your username and password log in again. This may seem counterintuitive, but you need to be logged in to log out!
  2. Click on your profile icon in the upper-right corner.

  3. Click Sign out.

  4. When it asks if you'd really like to sign out, click Sign Out again.

  5. Lastly, navigate back to the Self Service portal, select your campus, and log in again.

Fix 2: Web Browser Cache

If logging out of your account and logging back in does not work, try opening Banner Self Service again from a different web browser. For example, if you normally use Google Chrome, try using Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari to log in.

If Banner Self Service works in a different web browser, you may need to Browsers, Clearing Cache and Cookies for your usual web browser.
