WebStore, SPSS warns, You do not have the correct administrator privileges

When trying to license SPSS Statistics software on a Mac OS you may see the following warning. "You do not have the correct Administrator Privileges to license this product."

Resolving The Problem

If you encounter this message, perform the following procedure: If open, close the IBM SPSS Statistics product.

Statistics Release 28 and after and Statistics Subscription

If open, close the License Authorization Wizard. Open Finder. Select the 'Go' menu. Select the 'Utilities' menu. Open the Terminal program (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) Type (copy and paste) the following command to change directory to the SPSS Statistics installation folder: cd /Applications/ Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard. Type (copy and paste) the following command: sudo chown -R root:admin "IBM SPSS Statistics" Press the Enter or Return key on the keyboard. Close Terminal. Launch the License Authorization Wizard. License your IBM SPSS Statistics product.

Statistics Release 27

If open, close the License Authorization Wizard. Open Finder. Select the 'Go' menu. Select the 'Utilities' menu.
