Help Desk, Help Desk Tools Access Program

The Help Desk Tools Access Program (HDTAP) is designed to provide IT Pros across campus with the tools they need to better support their units.

This initiative was implemented to expand access to Technology Services Help Desk tools to additional IT personnel, enabling local IT groups to complete their own requests. HDTAP currently allows IT Pros to request access to the following tools:

  • Active Directory (AD) Tools: (mainly used to unlock user accounts)
  • Cerebro: (provides basic directory info, account status, information about cloud services and more)

To gain access, you must first complete a short, self-paced training course. You will then be provided with a link to the HDTAP request form. You will be notified via the ticketing system (TeamDynamix) when your request has been processed and access is granted. You will also receive an email from servicereplies@uillinois.edu.

Help Desk Tools must be renewed yearly and you will be notified by email 30 days and 7 days before your access expires. The expiration notices will include a renewal form that you must submit to extend your access for another year.

Looking for password registrar (ISA) access? See Identity Management, Requesting or Renewing Access to ISA.

If you have any questions about the Help Desk Tools Access Program, please reach out to the Technology Services Help Desk at consult@illinois.edu or (217)244-7000.
